Snubster, what is all the talk about?

The question of social networks and the good that they bring and the negative impact on the community as well as society as well as the loss of interaction in the real world has given birth to many anti-social networks and the question of are we seeing the next phase of a social progression of anti-social behavior in the virtual world of the internet and is this the creation of an acceptable behavior not unlike the clicks that many people were a part of in high school.

The idea was to bring people together and now they are working hard to protect themselves from strangers in a social network community? Wait they sign up for a social community to get to know people and/or keep up with friends and family, then they want to isolate themselves. There are plenty of im's out there that allow you to talk to friends and family without allowing anyone outside to look at your profile so isn't the idea of the social network to get to know people you don't know?

I am really missing something here? Please give me your opinion.

Aderson Cooper talks with Eric Volz's

Eric Volz case has been overturned and yet he remains in jail.

Eric Volz was accused of raping and killing his ex-girlfriend. Thousand have been following his story. On Monday, what was thought to be a victory is now leading to speculation and anxiety for Maggie Anthony, Volz's mother, as Volz case has been overturned and yet he remains in police custody in Nicaragua.

It appears that the judge that overturned the ruling has not shown up for the last 2 days and Mr. Volz will not be released until the judge that overturned the ruling signs his release form. In the mean time rumors of local radio stations in Nicaragua are encouraging the locals to take justice into their own hands, add to that the fact that Eric Volz is being held in a hospital due to Kidney stones and yet no one, mother, friend or even his lawyer have been allowed to talk to him must make us wonder if someone hasn't already taken it into their own hands.

Do you think that we as a country should get involved?

Dan Hesse is the new Sprint Nextel CEO and who cares?

Dan Hesse is to lead Sprint Nextel into a new era of cell phone warfare. (Not really I just thought it sounded cool for an opening line:) You may not know this.... cause I sure as hell didn't.... Yes, it is early morning here and I am in a great mood so I might jump off track a bit. Please hold on and keep your arms and legs inside the ride at all times.

Okay, serious (Mostly) Dan Hesse has been running the spin-off Embarq for Sprint and was CEO of AT&T Wireless from 1997 to 2000 ( I really wonder if people ever ask the question... Why isn't he still there....Did he run to more money or did they fire him:) during what was considered the glory years of AT&T service.

Gary Forsee is stepping down and handing off the rains to Dan Hesse after four years of dedication to his job.

Does this mean that Sprint service is going to go down the tubes? Will how big of a pin will they need to hear it across the room? (Ouch showing my age on that one)
Will Nextel have to change its greatest feature to "almost direct connect"?

Battle of the choirs; The next prime time reality.

Battle of the Choirs, based on an overseas format and ABC takes a chance that this will bring back their numbers and their faithful viewers sing their praises, or is there a bad note in ABC's future.

With the success of shows like American Idol, Survivor and a slew of other reality television there is a curtain amount of calculated numbers that will push a projected amount of ratings from people just tuning in for the first five minutes.

I want to know. What do you think? I can not fathom that there are than many people out there that are into choir music, but I must admit that I am a geek and that my wife tends to be more worldly then me and has more often then not been correct about what reality shows would do well and what ones would bomb. So how about giving me some help so that I can sound like I am having an intelligent conversation with her. :) She might like that.. :)

George W. Bush, What are the color of his eyes?

You have got to be kidding me? I am surfing the internet and this comes up as the hottest topic on the net right now. Holly crap. What we americans don't think of to avoid boredom.

Frankly, I am not all that concerned about what color his eyes are, not nearly as much as whether or not he drops a nuclear weapon on someone or declares war on another country. (Not likely, okay not going to happen.)

Okay, here is the question I want to know of all my fellow humans, not just americans, as I am unaware of how many people this blog is read by, (I am guessing at least 3 people, My wife and 2 children, I have no doubt that my 3rd child is not reading this blog...... She is 5, my princess and can not read that well yet....!!!!!) The question I ask of you is this...Do you know the eye color of your wife/husband, children, mother/father, Cat/Dog, Grand Parents/relatives, and what about your hero, my hero's eyes were a calm steel blue and I will never forget him. So you might want to know the eyes of the man that controls the fate of the country, but what about the neighbor that might just stop you son/daughter from running out in front of a car? What is that persons eye color?

Just wanted to get you all thinking.

National Treasure: Book of Secrets, Is this just another stupid sequel movie?

The long awaited and somewhat expected sequel to National Treasure, as always the trailers look good. However, the premise is already looking a bit sketchy. There is another even bigger secret then the first one.

Wait a second, the first big secret was passed down from generation to generation in Ben Gate's(Nicholas Cage) family. Something that had torn their family apart, an now there is another secret? Okay, I loved the first movie so I will bite............ With that said do not treat me like I am stupid. I want a good reason that this secret has fallen into your lap and not some lame brain, we can make a sequel about the families other secret. Here is your chance writers, make it believable according to the parameters that you have already set in the first movie.

That is not a bad idea, what did the first national treasure hold or was this what they hinted about at the end of the first movie? If that is the case then we should expect a smooth flow of ideas from the first movie to this one.

Alycia Lane

Alycia Lane was born may 10, 1972 in Long Island, New York. She attended the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and earned her Master's Degree. She is currently the news anchor for KYW-TV in Philadelphia.

You would think that Alycia would have learned her lesson after her unfortunate news release in May of 2007, when she sent hot and saucy photos of herself in a bikini to Rich Eisen, a NFL Network anchor. Much to Alycia's dismay it was Suzy Shuster of ABC College football sidelines reporter that responded to the email and became public attention.

Apparently it was not enough attention for Alycia. Sunday morning Dec 16, 2007 she was stopped by a traffic officer. At some point she hit the officer and was arrested and taken to jail. Lane is now charged with assault and battery on a peace officer. She has been released on her own recognizance. Update

Dark Knight Trailer slips out early

Dark Knight Trailer slips out early, The rumors are true that the Dark Knight Trailer did find its way to the youtube.com platform before it was quickly removed. Now youtube.com is sporting the official movie trailer for the Dark Knight sequel. It is just the teaser it looks to be awesome.

I am Legend Review: Will Smith

This fresh look to a classic book that has been made into a movie is just that, our kids generation of computer generated graphics so all that is not real can be seen on the big screen. Will Smith does a stunning job of bringing his character to life on the big screen and gives us a desired hope for the last man of the human race. He does an outstanding job of holding the attention of the audience, in a single actor movie that we have not scene since Tom Hanks in Castaway.

The big build up in the darkness that surrounds him is not unlike the darkness that surrounds each of us as we struggle through the morale issues of today's society, and then, suddenly, the horrific creatures of the night become visible to us, and here is were it all comes to an end. The computer generated creatures of the dark are less than horrifying and to much on unreal side of reality. Now, I do like cheesy Sci-fi as it is one of my favorite subjects, however most will find that the creatures of this dark tell fall far short after such an intense build up. I enjoyed the pondering of our own nature and the questions that we are left with. Many critics do not agree. They feel that it is an unresolved and unfulfilled conflict that should have had more depth and detail. You will have to be the judge. It is all a matter of opinion and perspective. I enjoyed the chance to catch this one on the big screen for Will Smith's performance, however there are many that will simple want to see this one on the DVD, it helps when you can see all the bloopers, deleted scenes and sometimes an alternate ending.

I can't wait to see what the reaction will be when this movie goes to DVD and we get the chance to look behind the scenes and give credit for all the hard work that was involved.

Donald Fehr - He "reacts" to the Mitchell Report

Donald Fehr speaks out on the Mitchell Report.
"We were not afforded that opportunity," said Fehr. "I think in this context that is extraordinarily unusual in a collective bargaining context. Doing that in and of itself says something about the bargaining relationship. They did what they did."

"The program today is a strong and effective one and has even been improved in the two years since it has been announced," he said. "So far as I can tell, the report does not suggest that the program is failing to pick up any steroid use which is possible to detect."

"Many players are named," said Fehr. "Their reputations have been adversely effected, probably forever even if it turns out down the road that they should not have been. In my view anyone interested in fairly assessing the allegations against the players should consider the nature of the evidence presented and the reliability of the source."

"I hope that I will conclude, down the road after we've had a chance to look at what happens, that it was not detrimental," said Fehr of the report. "I will let you know when I'm in a position to make that judgment. I'm not today."

Dunstan Baby Language... The Sign Language of babies.

"My Baby Can Talk™ - Exploring Signs" introduces babies to twenty-four words and signs to encourage them to explore and begin to communicate about the wonders of the world around them. This playful exploration presents baby's expanding world in a fun and fascinating way -- offering words and signs for colors, foods, nature and play. Included is a Parent Tutorial focusing on key guidelines to begin signing with babies as well as additional signs for parents to teach their little ones -- including signs for emotions. This program also includes a printed Quick Reference Signing Card offering illustrations of the signs presented.

The format of the "My Baby Can Talk™" series is specifically designed to respect the developmental stage, attention span and intellect of babies from 10 to 36 months. This series features beautiful real world images, delightful puppet shows, colorful toys in motion and babies communicating with simple gestures. Each sign is demonstrated by babies and an adult, making the "My Baby Can Talk™" series the first baby sign language program to feature preverbal babies signing all the words presented.

"Sign language is helping parents to fully appreciate how truly brilliant their preverbal babies are simply because babies are now able to communicate before they can speak." said Kathleen Waidhofer, Creative Director of Baby Hands Productions. "The concept is very simple. At ten months of age the average hearing baby is unable to speak but is able to use simple hand movements to communicate basic wants and needs instead of crying."

Research has shown that babies are able to communicate using baby sign language well before their vocal capacity to formulate spoken words is developed. Babies who use sign language tend to speak sooner with larger vocabularies, show an increase in IQ scores and engage in more sophisticated play. Preverbal signing has also been shown to reduce the frustration broadly associated with "the terrible twos."

The Mitchell Report as it is being called by the news media will supposedly shed light on the commissioner's office and players union tolerated "the presences of and use of steroids, stimulants and human growth hormone" lead to the MVP and Cy Young Award winning Players.

The Mitchell List as the "Players" are calling it, is over 300 pages long plus attachments. Has officially been released. More than half the players on the list are no longer active in the MLB. Speed Racer Movie 2008 Get All the info....

Have you seen the new Speed Racer trailer? I grew up watching this cartoon. I am glad that they are not making it to serious as I would love to be able to take my 5 year old to see this. It looks like a bunch of cheesy stuff and I can't wait to take her. Speed Racer is going to be one of her favorite movies I am thinking.

I have had several people that have written and asked me if I felt that this movie project was worth the money that has been spent on it. I must say that there has been a big move by the movie industry to make movies that do well at the box office but are more targeted for the home DVD collection. I can tell you that the box office is all going to be determined by what this movie is up against when it comes out, the home collection is going to be a must for most of us that grew up to the original and have children under 8.

Directors: Andy Wachowski Writers: Tatsuo Yoshida (Charaters and story)
